Tennessee Places Fifth at Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - Tennessee's First Varsity Four finished fifth out of 19 teams in the Women's Championship Fours at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, Mass. Sunday. Their time of 19:41.826 was the third fastest time among universities. The Denmark women's team placed first with a time of 18:44.562.
The crew of Anneta Kyridou, Kirsten Girard, Aja List and Katherine Porter, guided by senior coxswain Taylor Upson, rowed to the highest finish of any Tennessee boat competing in the Women's Championship 4+ division at the Head of the Charles.
The Volunteers finished ahead of Cornell, Iowa, Rutgers, Notre Dame, Radcliffe, Boston College, MIT, Miami, Alabama and George Washington University.
Next up for Tennessee Rowing is the Head of the Hooch in Chattanooga on Nov. 5.
