October 18, 2016 | Soccer
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee forward Hannah Wilkinson earned a spot on the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week today after another productive performance in last week’s contest at Kentucky.
This is the third time Wilkinson has been named to the TDS Team of the Week in her career. Earlier this month she was also named the NSCAA Women’s College Player of the Week and an honorable mention for the TDS Team of the Week. The Vols have now had 22 total selections for the TDS Team of the Week in program history.
The New Zealand native continued her red-hot play with a goal and an assist in last Friday’s 2-2 draw at Kentucky. Wilkinson extended her goal scoring streak to five straight games by putting UT up 1-0 in the 17th minute. She then assisted on the game-tying goal by Ariel Kupritz in the 84th minute to help send the game to overtime.
Wilkinson has six goals, three assists and 15 points over the past five games, leading the Vols to a 3-1-1 record in that span. The senior striker leads the Big Orange and is tied for third in the SEC with a career-best 26 points this season. She is also tied for 17th in the country with 1.85 points per game.
Wilkinson and the Volunteers wrap up their regular-season home slate with a pair of conference games this week. UT welcomes Mississippi State on Thursday at 7 p.m. before hosting No. 2 South Carolina on Sunday at 5 p.m. for Senior Night. Both games can be seen live on SEC Network +/WatchESPN (Online).
