Tennessee dropped its first game at home this season, falling to 8-1.
UT dropped to 1,577-1,009-2 in program history and 339-119 all-time at Thompson-Boling Arena.
Tennessee starters were Kevin Punter, Robert Hubbs III, Devon Baulkman, Armani Moore and Admiral Schofield.
Tennessee committed a season-high 18 turnovers on the afternoon.
Official attendance for tonight’s game was 14,907.
Tennessee fell to 5-5 all-time against Texas A&M and 3-3 in Knoxville.
The Vols have now lost four straight to the Aggies after today’s loss.
Tennessee’s freshmen combined to score 31 points on the night, including 21 in the first half, marking the most they’ve scored in a game this season. Their previous high was 24 points at No. 18 Butler on Dec. 12.
Admiral Schofield led the charge with 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting, including 3-of-6 from long range.
The Vols had two freshmen score in double figures in the same game for the first time this season as Schofield and Shembari Phillips both had double-digit scoring efforts.
Phillips scored a career-high 15 points and was in double figures for the first time in his career.
Kevin Punter scored in double figures for the 13th straight game and 14th time overall this season. Seventeen of his team-high 19 points came in the second half.
Punter also led the team in scoring for the 11th time this year.
Freshman forward Admiral Schofield posted his third straight double-figure scoring game with 16 points on the afternoon. All three games have been SEC contests.
Schofield set a career high for 3-pointers made in a game with three, all of them coming in the first half.
Schofield led the Vols with 13 points on 5-for-5 shooting in the first half. He also led the team with five rebounds in the opening 20 minutes.
Tennessee was on fire from 3-point range, making 12 shots from behind the arc, the second most for the Vols in a game this season.
The Vols have now made double-digit 3-pointers four times this season.
Entering the game, the Vols led the SEC and ranked 11th nationally with 5.9 blocks per game. They continued to keep their pace with another six blocks against the Aggies.
With five blocks on the afternoon, Armani Moore passed Brandon Crump for 12th in program history with 109 career blocks.
The Vols travel to Athens to continue SEC play against Georgia on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Tip is set for 7 p.m. and the game will air on the SEC Network.
Tennessee is 56-15 all-time against the Bulldogs, including 33 wins in Athens.
Georgia has controlled the series as of late with five wins in the past seven meetings, including a 56-53 win in Athens last season.
