SEC Legend Shyra Ely-Gash

KNOXVILLE -- Shyra Ely-Gash is Tennessee's 2016 SEC Women's Basketball Legend, and the Lady Vol All-American will be honored at the SEC Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla., March 2-6.
A 6-foot-2 forward from Indianapolis, Indiana, Ely-Gash averaged 12.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest in 139 career games, leading UT to four NCAA Final Fours, three SEC regular season titles and an SEC Tournament championship.
The lefty was a 2004 WBCA All-American, a 2004 and 2005 All-SEC First Team and SEC All-Tournament selection, 2005 SEC Tournament MVP, 2002 SEC All-Freshman Team pick and a 2005 SEC Academic Honor Roll member.
Ely-Gash averaged 14.5 points as a junior and 14.4 as a senior, finishing her career with 1,673 points and 940 rebounds. She continues to rank No. 13 and No. 8, respectively, in those statistical categories at Tennessee.
After her Lady Vol career, Ely-Gash was drafted by San Antonio in the second round with the 14th overall pick in the 2005 WNBA Draft. She spent six seasons in the league, playing for San Antonio, Seattle, Chicago and Indiana.
