Vols Beat UNF 4-1 to Start Doubleheader

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Led by a pair of quick freshman wins, the Tennessee Volunteers turned the momentum midway through singles for a 4-1 men's tennis victory over North Florida Monday at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
The Vols (3-0) won the doubles point and then built a quick 3-0 victory after freshmen Jack Heslin and Timo Stodder rolled away with straight-set wins. Heslin beat Alberto De Meo 6-3, 6-1 on court 6 and Stodder followed a few minutes later with a 6-3, 6-1 victory against Yannick Zuern on court 3.
The final two team points come nearly simultaneously. Lasse Muscheites delivered the Osprey's lone point with a 6-4, 6-0 victory against junior Jack Schipanski on court 4. On the next court, sophomore Luis Valero ended the match with an ace that clipped the tape and bounced in, clinching the 6-2, 6-4 win on court 2 over Julian Bradley.
The Vols play again at 2 p.m.
