Women's Tennis Set to Open Fall

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Tennessee women’s tennis team is set to kick off its 2015 fall season at the 29th annual Furman Fall Classic on Friday, September 25.
Play runs Friday through Sunday with play starting at 9 a.m. every day at the Mickel Tennis Center. There are six singles and three doubles flights, with 12 ranked players in singles and five in doubles scheduled to participate over the weekend.
The Vols are returning four members from last year's team: senior Tiffany Tavares and juniors Eve Repic, Brittany Lindl and Ashlee Boles. Co-head coaches Mike Patrick and Sonia Hahn-Patrick are entering their 19th season together.
Tennessee adds five freshmen to the roster this season: Ashley Bongart, Sadie Hammond, Kim Kermet, Gabby Schuck and Margo Taylor.
Also joining the team this year is former All-American Kata Szekely, who is volunteering as an assistant coach after being an assistant coach at DePaul University the past two seasons.
The schedule for the weekend is one singles and two doubles matches on Friday, one round of singles and doubles in Saturday and one round of singles on Sunday. The schedule is subject to change, pending on weather throughout the tournament.
