Pros Update: Simcox, Stewart Reunited

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Baseball has 20 former players in professional baseball who have recorded time on the field during the 2015 season. VFL A.J. Simcox was recently assigned to the West Michigan Whitecaps where he will rejoin VFL and former teammate Christin Stewart. Before being elevated to the Whitecaps, Simcox played 25 games with the Connecticut Tigers. He recorded 17 hits, 12 RBI and 14 runs with the team. He also boasted a .270 batting average.
MAJOR LEAGUES
R. A. Dickey - SP, Toronto Blue Jays
Season: 7-10, 3.96 ERA, 24 G, 157.0 IP, 142 H, 73 R, 69 ER, 53 BB, 97 K
Dickey started two games over the past two weeks (August 5-16) for the Toronto Blue Jays. In his August 12 appearance, Dickey tossed 6.0 innings and allowed three runs on six hits. The outing marked his seventh win of the season and his second win against the Oakland Athletics this year.
Yan Gomes - C, Cleveland Indians
Season: .233, 62 G, 23 R, 55 H, 13 2B, 0 3B, 7 HR, 28 RBI
Gomes appeared in eight games over the past two weeks (August 5-16) for Cleveland, including six games versus the Minnesota Twins. In the first game versus Minnesota on August 7, Gomes registered two hits and four RBI. He proceeded to collect three hits and two RBI over the course of the other five games.
Chase Headley - 3B, New York Yankees

Headley appeared in 10 games over the past two weeks (August 5-16) for the New York Yankees, including a three-game series at Toronto. In the series opener on August 14, Headley knocked three hits, including two doubles, batted in one run and scored once.

The five-RBI night also marks a Minor League career high for Stewart.
