KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Five Volunteers earned a place on the 2015 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's All-Academic Team for their outstanding work in the classroom.
The athletes listed were Ashlee Boles (animal science), Laurence Guevremont (chemical engineering), Joanna Henderson (supply chain management), Eve Repic (global studies) and Caitlyn Williams (linguistics), who also earned the award in 2013.
Henderson and Williams both finished their careers at Tennessee this spring by representing the team at the NCAA Doubles Championships, losing in the opening round. The two finished 17-5 this season and 45-23 during their careers on Rocky Top. Henderson led the team in wins for both singles and doubles.
Boles, Guevremont and Repic were all sophomores this season. Repic finished the season with a 16-11 record in singles and 12-15 in doubles, despite missing the entire fall season. Guevremont teamed up with Repic in doubles to win 10 matches, and the duo also climbed the ITA rankings to No. 30, the highest ranking in their careers. Boles saw limited action during team play, going 7-9 in singles and 2-2 in doubles.
The Southeastern Conference released its 2015 Spring Academic Honor Roll in June, which is based on grades from the 2014 Summer, 2014 Fall and 2015 Spring terms. All eight athletes from the women's tennis team were named to the list.
