Rowing Advances All Boats To Grand Finals

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. - Tennessee rowing advanced all its boats to the grand finals after finishing third or better in each heat on day one of the Big 12 Rowing Championships held on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge on Saturday.
Tennessee's varsity eight finished second in heat 1 on Saturday, falling to No. 11 Texas, crossing the finish line in 6 minutes and 38.89 seconds. The Lady Vols will compete in the grand final on Sunday at 10:30 AM.
During the second varsity eight, the Big Orange crossed the finish line in 6 minutes and 47.96 seconds, finishing second in the first heat.
In the second heat of the first varsity four, the Lady Vols finished second to Oklahoma finishing with a time of 7 minutes and 31.24 seconds.
Tennessee's second varsity four will also be racing in the grand final on Sunday after finishing first in the second heat, crossing the finish line in 7 minutes and 25.69 seconds.
To close out the preliminary day of racing, the Lady Vols' third varsity eight finished third in the second heat.
