May 12, 2015 | Football
ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Big Orange Caravan rolled into Atlanta as Butch Jones, Rick Barnes and Dean Lockwood met with Vol Nation at the College Football Hall of Fame.
Jones and Barnes spoke with the media explaining the importance of recruiting in the Peach City and how the Vols think of Georgia as a second home.
Jones raved about the newly-opened Hall of Fame and spoke about the large Volunteer presences in the facility.
"I'll tell you what a great night it is being here in Atlanta but also at the College Football Hall of Fame," Jones said. "It's a first class experience, and I highly suggest that every college football fan attend the College Football Hall of Fame. I got goose bumps when you look at all the tradition at Tennessee and it's able to be displayed. It's a great evening to spend with our fans and to be in the College Football Hall of Fame."
JONES, BARNES WATCH GRIZZLIES GAME IN MEMPHIS
Tennessee head coaches Butch Jones and Rick Barnes were easily spotted last night in Memphis as they watched game four of the NBA Playoffs. Jones, Barnes and the eldest son of Jones were front row for the showdown between the hometown Grizzlies and Golden State Warriors.
"I'll tell you what. I learned more basketball in about three hours with Coach Barnes," Jones said. "It was a great trip. To be able to watch the Warriors and watch the Grizzlies; it's all about competition and really being there to be able to see their faces, their communication, the coaches and what goes on. It's an awesome opportunity to always improve as a coach."
Sitting alongside new Vols coach Barnes, Jones also had the opportunity to share the time bonding with his son.
"It was a good opportunity to really sit with Coach Barnes and really soak in the game and each possession what they're thinking about," Jones said. "My son will graduate on Saturday so to have him with us was a great, great night."
