BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- University of Tennessee senior women's tennis player Joanna Henderson has been named to the SEC Community Service Team as announced by the Southeastern Conference on Tuesday.
The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams in all 21 sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight athletes from the SEC who give back to their community in superior service efforts.
This is the second year in a row that Henderson has been named to the SEC Community Service Team, making up one of nine Lady Vols who have received the award over the years.
Totaling more than 20 hours throughout the year, the native of Aberdeen, Scotland, participated in many community service projects during her senior year, including the Emerald Youth Foundation, Let's Move Day, Tennessee's annual VOLoween and "Read Across America Day" at Pond Gap Elementary School.
On the court, Henderson is 22-17 in singles and 19-7 in doubles, which were both team-highs for Tennessee. Henderson is currently ranked No. 86 in the country for singles and No. 30 in doubles with fellow senior Caitlyn Williams.
