Women's Tennis Falls 4-0 at #6 Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The No. 66 Tennessee Lady Vols (11-14, 3-10) lost 4-0 in their regular season finale against the No. 6 Florida Gators (20-2, 12-1) at Linder Stadium on Sunday.
In doubles, the Gators came out strong as they quickly clinched the doubles point to take a 1-0 lead. Junior Tiffany Tavares and sophomore Victoria Olivarez fell 8-4 to the team of Spencer Liang and Peggy Porter on court 3. The sophomore duo of Eve Repic and Laurence Guevremont were beat by Josie Kuhlman and Belinda Woolcock 8-6 on court 2.
Seniors Joanna Henderson and Caitlyn Williams went unfinished in their match against the No. 12 ranked pair of Brooke Austin and Kourtney Keegan. The two teams were evenly matched, ending in a 7-7 tiebreaker.
In singles, Henderson lost to No. 5 Brooke Austin 6-1, 6-1 on court 1. No. 42 Kourtney Keegan defeated Olivarez in a 6-3, 6-0 match. The match was clinched for the Gators after No. 43 Belinda Woolcok bested Guevremont 6-1, 6-0 on court 5.
Repic, Tavares and Williams all went unfinished in their matches. Repic was tied with her 10th ranked opponent of Josie Kuhlman 5-5. Williams and Tavares both trailed after losing the first set to their individual matches.
The Lady Vols will return to action on Wednesday, as they begin play in the Southeastern Conference Tournament held in Columbia, S.C. Their opponent is yet to be determined.
