The Vols outrebounded Kentucky 15-13, Robert Hubbs III leading the Vols with three. Kevin Punter led the Vols with eight points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor. By halftime, Owens already had a career-best five points. The leads changed hands three times and the game was tied five times during the first half.
