Vols Take First Match vs. TTU

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Vols opened a doubleheader with a 6-1 victory over Tennessee Tech on Saturday at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
The Vols won the doubles point and won three matches in straight sets, courtesy of senior Brandon Fickey, junior Bartosz Sawicki and freshman Jess Jones. Hunter Reese and Jack Schipanski won 10-point tiebreakers at the top of the Tennessee lineup.
The match was originally scheduled to be outside, but was moved indoors to Goodfriend Tennis Center because of weather. The second match will be played outdoors.
