HOME SWEET HOME TO ME: The Vols improved to a perfect 6-0 at Thompson-Boling Arena in 2015-16.
Tennessee has now won 16 consecutive home non-conference games, dating to a Dec. 2013 loss to NC State .
DEFENDING DECEMBER: Tennessee has won 18 of its last 19 games played at home in December dating to Dec 20, 2011. The lone loss came to NC State on Dec. 18, 2013.
TRUE FROSH STARTING: The Vols started a pair of true freshmen in swingman Admiral Schofield and Kyle Alexander, who drew his first college start on Tuesday. It was the first time in 2015-16 that Tennessee started two true freshman.
The last time Tennessee started two true freshmen in a game was on Dec. 22, 2014 vs. Mercer when Willie Carmichael and Derrick Mostella both drew the starting nod.
THE SERIES: The Vols improved to 15-2 all-time against ETSU. The Vols have won nine games in a row and are 11-2 against the Bucs in Knoxville. ETSU’s lone wins in the series came in 1989 and 1991.
HOT TO CLOSE: After the Vols struggled most of the night from floor, they closed the game making six of their final seven shots from the floor. Tennessee began the second half 5-of-24 from the field, but closed 11-of-31 with that torrid finish.
MORE MOORE DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Senior Armani Moore posted his second double-double of the season and sixth of his career with 14 points and 12 rebounds. His previous double-double this season came against Gardner-Webb with 15 points and 16 rebounds.
TEEK-TOCK DOUBLE-FIGS: Sophomore Derrick Mostella scored in double-figures in consecutive games for the first time in his career as he tallied career-high tying 17 points. That came on the heels of a 13-point game vs. Gonzaga in Seattle last Saturday.
His point total was his most in a home game, his previous high total of 17 came vs. VCU in Annapolis in his first college game on Nov. 14, 2014.
BAULKMAN TRIPLES: Devon Baulkman knocked down a 3-point field goal for the 10th game in a row, making two. He has made at least one in 10 of 11 games this season, only missing on the opener vs. UNC Asheville.
The streak is the longest by a Vol since Jordan McRae made at least one 3-pointer in the first 25 games of the 2013-14 season. Overall, McRae made a 3-pointer in 37 games in a row dating to the final 12 games of the 2012-13 season.
BLOX-VILLE In his first start, freshman Kyle Alexander had three blocked shots. Over his last five games, Alexander has 12 blocked shots with three on four different occasions. Alexander finished with five points in his first start.
