KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee women’s golf head coach Judi Pavon was presented with the Women’s Golf Coaches Association Founders Award at the annual Member Convention on Tuesday, December 8th for her accomplishments and service over the past three years.
Pavon is in her 16th year as head coach of the Tennessee women’s golf program. Since becoming head coach, Pavon’s teams have all qualified to play at the NCAA Regionals and 10 of those teams have qualified to play at the NCAA Championships.
From 2007-2014 Pavon served on the WGCA Board of Directors, holding the position of President from 2010-2012. She also served on the Awards Committee and Hall of Fame Committee while on the board.
During the past three years, Tennessee women’s golf has participated in a pen pal program with second graders at Sevierville Elementary in addition to taking part in an annual Voloween. Women’s golf athletes are also active members of SAAC and devote time to other campus and community events.
For the past five years, the golf program has hosted a free, annual golf clinic for the community and Pavon ran a golf camp in 2014. Pavon has also helped develop and instruct a MBA Grads to Golf program for the past three years and is working on expanding it nationwide.
