- Tennessee is coming off a dominating 102-47, home victory over Central Arkansas on Sunday, in which it bolted to a 17-0 lead.
- Five players reached double figures in scoring to lead the Lady Vols in the regular-season opener at Thompson-Boling Arena before a crowd of 9,709.
- Sophomore forward Kortney Dunbar (24 pts., 13 rebs.) and redshirt sophomore center Mercedes Russell (20 pts., 13 rebs.) are averaging double-doubles after their efforts in the opener, while freshmen Te'a Cooper is UT's second-leading scorer at 22.0 points per game.
- Holly Warlick's squad also crossed the 100-point plateau in its lone exhibition game, taking care of Carson-Newman, 101-59, on Nov. 9.

Sizing Up The Lady Lions
- PSU enters Wednesday night's match-up 2-0 after holding off Holy Cross in overtime, 86-82, on Nov. 13, and rolling by Fordham, 75-59, on Sunday. Both games were at PSU's Bryce Jordan Center.
- Brianna Banks, a 5-9 senior guard who transferred from UConn, leads the Lady Lions in scoring at 21.0 points per contest through two games, followed by 6-3 junior forward Peyton Whitted (15.1 ppg., 11.0 rpg.) and 5-7 freshman guard Teniya Page (13.0 ppg., 6.5 apg.).
- Ninth-year vet Coquese Washington leads PSU and is 150-105 in her career, all in Happy Valley.
- A year ago, the Lady Lions were 6-24 overall and 3-15 in the Big Ten to tie for 13th place.
- Penn State returns four starters and six overall letterwinners from that squad.
- Typically, PSU is an NCAA Tournament team, making the field 25 times with the last trip coming in 2014 and the squad advancing to the regional round before bowing out.

- Tennessee is 8-1 all-time vs. Penn State, including 4-0 at home, winning the last four meetings.
- The Lady Vols took an 86-58 win over PSU in the 2003 Mideast Regional semifinals in Knoxville the last time these teams met. UT went on to the Final Four, where it beat Duke, 66-56, and lost to UConn, 73-68, in the title game.
