KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lady Vols open the 2015-16 season with their first of eight straight home games as they take on Central Arkansas for the first time in school history on Sunday at Thompson-Boling Arena. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live online through SEC Network +.

Regular Season Opener
- Tennessee will tip off its 2015-16 regular season on Sunday, as the Central Arkansas Sugar Bears come to town for a 2 p.m. tilt (SECN+).
- Bob Kesling (PxP), Brittany Jackson (Analyst) and Maddy Glab (Sideline) will describe the action on SECN+.
- Sunday's contest will mark the first meeting between the Lady Vols and the school (located in Conway, Ark.) that produced former NBA world champion, Scottie Pippen.
- The Lady Vols were 30-6 overall and 15-1 in the SEC a year ago, sharing the regular season title with S.C.
- Tennessee is predicted to finish second in the 2016 SEC race by the coaches and the media.
- Tennessee enters the 2015-16 campaign on a 22-game home winning streak, including an 18-0 mark in 2014-15 (not including exhibition contests).
- Mercedes Russell had 23 points and 10 boards, and Andraya Carter added 19 points to lead No. 4/4 Tennessee to a 101-59 home victory over Carson-Newman on Nov. 9 in UT's lone exhibition game.

- The Lady Vols are 37-4 in season openers over the past 41 years.
- Tennessee has a 27-1 record at Thompson-Boling Arena when it makes its first appearance there during a season and is 38-3 in home debuts since 1974-75.
- UT has won 10 season openers in a row at home, dating back to a 69-64 setback to #6 Louisiana Tech in Knoxville on Nov. 14, 1999.
The Scoop On The Sugar Bears
- Central Arkansas started the 2015-16 season on the right foot, rolling past Hendrix, 72-43, on Friday night in Conway, Ark.
- UCA, which was led by 20 points on the night from junior guard Maggie Proffitt, led 35-18 at the half and never looked back.
- Central Arkansas, a member of the Southland Conference, is coming off a 17-14 season.
- UCA returns four starters and eight total letterwinners while welcoming six newcomers.
- Head coach Sandra Rushing is 51-41 in her fifth season at Central Arkansas.
- The 1986 Alabama graduate's career mark is 454-296 in her 26th year of coaching.
