Vols Finish Day 2 of Fall Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Freshman Sadie Hammond goes 2-0 to lead Tennessee in day two of the UT Fall Invite at Goodfriend Tennis Center on Saturday.
The Vols opened the day with a round of singles against Ohio State. Hammond breezed past Sandy Niehaus, 6-3, 6-3, on court 1. Junior Brittany Lindl came from behind to defeat Grâinne O'Neill, losing the first set then taking the next two to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. Senior Tiffany Tavares also came from behind to beat Andrea Ballinger, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2, in an additional match between the two teams.
Tennessee followed up their round of singles with one round of doubles against Arizona State. Hammond and junior Eve Repic downed the duo of Desirae Krawczyk and Ebony Panoho, 6-4. The other two doubles teams for the Vols fell 6-4 in their matches.
The Volunteers will be back in action tomorrow for the final day of the UT Fall Invite at Goodfriend Tennis Center, starting with Ohio State in doubles at noon followed by a round of singles against Wake Forest.
