Vols Set to Host Fall Invite

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee women's tennis team will host Ohio State, Arizona State and Wake Forest for the UT Fall Invite this weekend at Goodfriend Tennis Center.
The event will be the first time the Vols have played at home this season and their third tournament of the fall, competing in the Furman Fall Classic and the Ohio Valley Regional Championships within the past month.
There are no draws for the tournament. Each day, the coaches will set their team's lineups. Play will begin with two teams facing off in dual-style singles play, followed by all four teams taking part in doubles play and concluding with the remaining two teams competing in singles action.
Several players competing were ranked in the ITA Preseason Rankings, including Desirae Krawczyk from Arizona State who is ranked 26th in singles and ranked sixth in doubles with partner Stephanie Vlad. Ohio State's Francesca DiLorenzo was ranked as the top newcomer in the country.
While Tennessee didn't have any ranked players, several Vols have started very strong to begin the season. Freshman Sadie Hammond is 7-1 and competed to the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Regionals. Junior Eve Repic has started out 4-2 in singles and advanced to the quarterfinals of regionals.
Admission is free for the entire weekend, so come out and support the Volunteers in their first home event of the season at Goodfriend Tennis Center, starting at 3 p.m. Friday.
