THE SERIES
- Tuesday marks the first meeting all-time between Tennessee and Evansville.
- The Lady Vols are 8-6 all-time against opponents from the Missouri Valley Conference, including a 1-1 mark under head coach Rob Patrick.
- It is also the first time that Tennessee has ventured into the state of Indiana since 2005 when it faced Purdue in West Lafayette.

TENNESSEE
- Tennessee continues a stretch of seven games over nine days when it meets the Evansville Purple Aces for a midweek match on Tuesday night.
- Tuesday's match against Evansville is the only match on the non-conference schedule to be contested outside a tournament setting.
- Currently, Tennessee ranks second in the SEC in digs per set. As a team, the Lady Vols are turning in 15.79 digs per game, led by libero Bridgette Villano and her 4.05 digs per set. Freshman Kanisha Jimenez is averaging 3.53 scoops per set.
- True freshman Iesha Bryant is second in the SEC in blocks per set, turning away 1.53 attacks per set.
- From Evansville, the Lady Vols trek to Conway, South Carolina, for its final non-conference matches of the season. There, UT will face Kennesaw State, Loyola Maryland, and host Coastal Carolina over two days, Sept. 12-13.
- Tennessee makes its home debut when it hosts the DISH Lady Vol Classic from Sept. 18-20. UT will host Austin Peay, Memphis, Mercer, Montana State at the annual invitational. All matches will be played at Thompson-Boling Arena.
- The Lady Vols are coming off an 0-3 weekend at the Iowa State Challenge in Ames, Iowa. Tennessee suffered three losses, all in straight sets, to Northern Illinois, Iowa State, and Omaha.
- Thirteen Lady Vols saw the floor in the tournament finale against Omaha, including five true freshmen. Kendra Turner made the most of her one set, smashing four kills at a .375 clip. Kelsey Bawcombe also had four kills for the match and Iesha Bryant posted four total blocks.
EVANSVILLE
- The Purple Aces own a 2-5 record on the season and riding a two-game winning streak coming into Tuesday's match. UE wrapped up the Kent State Tournament, claiming a 3-0 sweep over New Hampshire and a 3-1 victory against Morehead State.
- Helping lead Evansville to its recent successes has been the play of senior Ashley Ring. The Madison, Wisconsin, native was named Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week on Monday after turning in 69 kills over the Aces' four matches last week.
- At the Kent State Tournament, Ringer turned in 20 kills at a .324 clip in UE's opening loss to the Golden Flashes. She followed that effort with 13 kills and a .355 attack percentage in the win over UNH and a monster performance of 21 kills and 11 digs vs. Morehead State.
- Junior Kim Deprez was named the top defensive player at the Kent State Tournament after scooping 55 total digs last week. She currently ranks fourth in the MVC in digs per set at 4.11.
- UE is under the direction of second-year head coach Manolo Concepcion. A native of Puerto Rico, Concepcion was formerly the head coach at Western Carolina before transitioning to Evansville. He has also served in several capacities in Puerto Rico, including as the President of Sports Consultants Network, LLC.
- Evansville was picked to finish eighth out of ten teams in the preseason MVC poll. Wichita State, which defeated Tennessee in the non-conference last season, was picked to win the league.
