Lady Vols Bounce Back in Season Opener

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- After a slow start to the tournament, the Lady Vols bounced back with a strong afternoon performance at the annual Furman Fall Classic.
Four of the six Lady Vols who played won their first round of singles matches. Sophomores Brittany Lindl, Laurence Guevremont and Ashlee Boles as well as junior Tiffany Tavares all had strong showings.
Sophomore Victoria Olivarez and senior Joanna Henderson fell short, but they had nice outings in doubles.
The doubles teams for Tennessee during the tournament paired Henderson with Guevremont, Lindl with Olivarez and Tavares with Boles. Each team fell short during their first match of the tournament, but they all stayed composed and won their second match.
Tomorrow will begin with one round of doubles beginning at 9 a.m., which will be followed by one round of singles starting at 10:30 a.m.
