KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Butch Jones announced at his weekly press conference on Tuesday that senior starting left tackle Jacob Gilliam had suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2014 season.
A former walk-on, Gilliam drew his first-career start in the Vols' opener vs. Utah State on Sunday night. The Farragut product earned a scholarship in May 2014 after four years as a walk-on with the Vols playing in just three games over the last two seasons.
I want to thank everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I will make it through this.

JONES: (On Gilliam) I've spoken with him and our players still want him around. That's the mindset. They think about each other.
