First Impression: Jaime Nared

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- In the Tennessee women's basketball "First Impression" spotlight this week is Jaime Nared, a 6-foot-2 wing player from Portland, Ore.
Nared came to Rocky Top in July, joining the rest of her teammates for the second session of summer school. She made the long trip from Portland, Ore., where she was a three-time 6A all-state player for Westview High School.
With Nared's addition to the roster, she is reunited with former AAU teammates and Oregon natives Mercedes Russell (Springfield) and Jordan Reynolds (Portland Central Catholic).
Rated the No. 6 player in the 2014 HoopGurlz espnW 100, the 2014 Oregonian and Gatorade Girls Player of the Year was a five-star recruit and the top-ranked wing player in the class by that service. Full Court had her rated No. 9, while Blue Star slotted her at No. 19.
Averaging 28.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, 4.1 steals and 3.0 assists per game as a senior, Nared was named a 2014 All-American by Parade, USA TODAY, Max Preps and McDonald's. She tallied a team-leading 15 points, four rebounds and two steals in 17 minutes to help the West to victory in the 2014 McDonald's All-American Game.
Nared will wear number 31 at Tennessee. Among the others who wore that number at Rocky Top were Sarah Edwards, Aubrey Guastalli, Jerilynn Harper and Brynae Laxton.
