A Special Christmas Gift For Vols' Ellis

You know the exciting feeling of opening gifts on Christmas morning? Well, Christmas came early for Vols junior tight end Alex Ellis as he unwrapped a scholarship from Butch Jones and the Vols on Monday morning.
The now former walk-on from Del Mar, Delaware, is a biomedical engineering major. He has played in all 12 games this season as a reserve tight end and on special teams. He has six catches for 115 yards including a 31-yard touchdown on a perfectly-executed fake field goal vs. Missouri on Nov. 22.
The respect Ellis gets from his teammates and the Tennessee staff is apparent in their tweets following the announcement:
