Lady Vols' Fall Comes to an End

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. -- The Lady Vols tennis team has come to the end of the fall season as sophomore Victoria Olivarez falls in her match at the Dick Vitale Clay Court Classic.
After being the only Lady Vol left in the tournament on day two, Olivarez's successful fall ends with a tough 6-3, 6-2 loss to Maria Alvarez of Oklahoma State.
Olivarez finished with a team best for the fall with an 8-3 record in singles including one win versus a ranked opponent.
The Lady Vols showed promise throughout the fall for the spring season. Seniors Joanna Henderson and Caitlyn Williams played up to their No. 16 doubles ranking in the ITA polls. Junior Tiffany Tavares played in tight matches with all of her opponents and finished with a 5-5 record. Sophomores Brittany Lindl, Laurence Guevremont and Ashlee Boles showed how they have grown and improved since their freshmen year.
Tennessee will begin the spring season on Jan. 16, 2015, in Las Vegas at tournament hosted by UNLV. The Lady Vols will rest for the remainder of the fall in preparation of the spring.
