Tennessee Linebacker A.J. Johnson has been named the Lott IMPACT Player of the Week.
Johnson had 10 tackles and a quarterback hurry in the Vols' 45-42 overtime win over South Carolina Saturday.
For the season, Johnson, a 6-2, 245-pound senior, has 96 tackles, among the leaders in the country, with 8.5 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. He has 420 career tackles in his career in Knoxville. The Pacific Club IMPACT Foundation will make a donation of $1,000 to the general scholarship fund at Tennessee to recognize Johnson's performance.
Johnson is a quarterfinalist for the 2014 Lott IMPACT Trophy, which honored college football's defensive best in character and performance.
