Volleyball Unveils 2015 Signing Class
November 24, 2014 | Volleyball
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee volleyball head coach Rob Patrick has announced his first signings to the class of 2015 as three of the Midwest's most talented players have signed National Letters of Intent with the Lady Vols.
Outside hitter Breana Jeter and middle hitter Erica Treiber join defensive specialist Brooke Schumacher in the 2015 signing class. Each member of the trio hails from the Upper Midwest region of the United States with Jeter joining the Big Orange from Ohio, Treiber coming in from Michigan, and Schumacher committing from Wisconsin.
"We're very excited about the three young ladies who will be joining our program next season," Patrick said. "They are a group of players that possess a very high volleyball IQ and I believe they will make the transition from high school and club to the college game fairly seamlessly. If I could use one word to describe each of them, it would be `physical.' All three are very aggressive, physical players, but within that they each have a high level of skill in their respective area of expertise."

Here's a breakdown of the newest additions to the Lady Vol Volleyball family, with comments from head coach Rob Patrick.
BREANA JETER | 6-1 | OH | Solon, Ohio A native of Solon, Ohio, Jeter is a 6-1 outside hitter who was named honorable mention All-District at Solon High School in 2013. A four-time letterwinner, Jeter helped her team to a district championship during her freshman season and a conference title during her sophomore stint. She played her club seasons with the Maverick Volleyball Club out of Cleveland. Jeter will be following in the footsteps of her older sister, Kayla, who was an All-SEC and All-American outside hitter for the Lady Vols from 2009-12.
BROOKE SCHUMACHER | 5-4 | DS | Hartford, Wis. A defensive specialist from Hartford Union High School in Wisconsin, Schumacher was named all-state honorable mention by the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association as a junior, followed by a third team all-state pick as a senior. As a team captain this last season, Schumacher set her school's single season record for digs with 647, closing out her career with 1,831 digs -- another program record. She averaged 6.2 digs per frame last season to close out her prep career with a 5.3 digs per set clip. The Journal Sentinel in Wisconsin named her one of Wisconsin's 20 seniors to watch prior to the start of the 2014 season. Schumacher played club volleyball with Milwaukee Sting and logged time with the Badger Region Girls High Performance Team.
ERICA TREIBER | 6-1 | MH | Unionville, Mich. One of the top recruits out of the state of Michigan, Treiber is a four-year starter from Unionville-Sebewaing Area High School. The middle hitter led the Patriots to a berth in the semifinals of the state tournament last week, pacing the team with 5.1 kills and 3.8 digs per set during her senior campaign. Treiber, who also played club volleyball with Michigan Elite, concludes her high school career with more than 1,700 kills to her name, earning her a spot on the AVCA Under Armour All-American list. She is a two-time all-state selection and a two-time Miss Volleyball finalist. Treiber has also enjoyed a successful prep softball career, batting better than .500 in three seasons with the team. She is the second member of her family to play collegiate volleyball as her sister, Jessica, was an opposite hitter at Saginaw Valley State University.
