BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Southeastern Conference unveiled its 11th annual men's basketball coaches preseason All-SEC first and second teams Thursday, tipping off another great season of SEC men's basketball. Tennessee senior Josh Richardson has been named to the preseason All-SEC second team.
Richardson is Tennessee's top returning scorer from 2013-14, when he averaged 10.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists as a junior. In UT's four NCAA Tournament games, he led the Vols in field-goal percentage (.617) and assists (3.0 apg) while ranking second in scoring (19.3 ppg).
Eleven different schools are represented on the two teams with Kentucky having five selections while Florida and LSU each had two selections. In all, 29 different players received votes for the coaches' teams.
The coaches' preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC Head Men's Basketball Coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.
