Spade, Baldwin Earn SEC Weekly Honors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Tennessee senior Cheyenne Spade was named SEC Offensive Player of The Week and UT freshman Carlyn Baldwin was named SEC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office on Friday.
Spade earns SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career after scoring the winner against Ole Miss on Thursday. Spade sent an arcing shot inside the box to the left side of the net in the 108th minute to lift Tennessee to a 3-2 double overtime win over Ole Miss and punch UT's ticket to the 2014 SEC Tournament. Spade's goal in the 108th minute gave Tennessee its first overtime win of the season. UT was previously 0-3-1 in OT this year. Her goal was Tennessee's first OT goal in over two years. Tennessee had been held scoreless the previous 10 times it had gone to overtime.
Baldwin earns SEC Freshman of the Week honors for the first time in her career after posting a goal and an assist in UT's win over Ole Miss. In the ninth minute, Baldwin assisted on UT's first goal on a short corner played in by Susan Ferguson, who connected with Amy Neal at the six-yard box. Baldwin scored the first goal of her Tennessee career in the 57th minute when she knocked in a penalty kick past diving goalkeeper Kelly McCormick.
Tennessee (9-9-1, 4-6-1 SEC) will face No. 7 seed Alabama (10-6-3, 5-4-2 SEC) in the first game of the 2014 SEC Championships in Orange Beach, Ala., on Monday, Nov. 3, at 4:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
