Libietis, Reese Start All-American with Doubles Win

Libietis and Reese, the defending tournament champions and No. 1-ranked team, defeated the 17th-ranked Virginia Tech pair of Amerigo Contini and Andreas Bjerrehus 6-4, 6-2 on the indoor courts at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Vols face Minnesota's Mathieu Fromen and Jack Hamburg, the 11th ranked team, in Friday's second round.
Both Vols came up short in their singles matches earlier in the day. Reese fended off three set points in the second set but lost 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 to Carlos Lopez Villa of Old Dominion. In his first collegiate match since May, Libietis lost 7-5, 6-4 for Oklahoma State's Felipe Soares.
SAWICKI, BHAT HEAD TO CHATTANOOGA
Junior Bartosz Sawicki and sophomore Sunay Bhat hit the road this weekend for the UTC/Steve Baras Fall Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Sawicki is the top seed in the second flight and will face Belmont's Robin Demasse or Srdjan Troscic his first round. Bhat is in the third flight, opening against Tennessee Tech's Othon Lima. The two Vols are also playing doubles in the second flight.
