Thursday's Tennessee basketball media day will provide several opportunities for fans to interact with the Volunteers on various social media platforms.
The @Vol_Hoops Twitter account will be live-tweeting the afternoon's events, which begin at 12:05 p.m. ET with head coach Donnie Tyndall's season-opening press conference.
The team's official Instagram account--also @Vol_Hoops--will be posting updates and behind-the-scenes content from noon to 2 p.m. Fans are encouraged to post their own Instagram videos in which they take #ThePledge to support the Tennessee basketball team by attending as many games as possible at Thompson-Boling Arena this season. Video submissions on Instagram should tag @Vol_Hoops and use the hashtag #ThePledge.
A new and unique addition to this year's media day will be a Google+ Hangout video chat, during which members of the team will take questions from fans. "Cyber Lunch with the Vols" will allow fans to view the Hangout from their home or workplace during their lunch break. The Google Hangout will be active from 12:30-1:30 p.m., and the link to participate (users must have a Google+ account, which is free to create) will be posted on UTsports.com.
After media day concludes, recap videos and photos will be posted on UTsports.com and also shared on the official team Facebook page at www.www.facebook.com/BallWithTheVols
