Bank of TN Final Round Washed Out

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. -- The weather conditions which had caused delays throughout the weekend, brought the 17th Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate to an early end Sunday morning. Final round play was cancelled.
The Vols headed to the third and final round at the 17th Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in a tie for 11th place. UT shot rounds of 303 and 281 on Friday and Saturday for a total of 584 (+8).
Six teams had started play on Sunday to conclude the second round. As the teams began the third round, the rain eventually caught up with the golfers and cut the tournament short. Scores through the second round are considered official final results.
Junior Michael Nagy was the only Volunteer that was unable to complete his second round on Saturday. Nagy finished the second round 2-over par. He finished the weekend 3-over par and in a tie for 40th place.
Two Vols recorded top-20 finishes. Junior Chad Merzbacher finished tied for 12th place at 2-under par and sophomore Juan Carlos Serrano Guevara finished tied for 20th place at 1-under par.
The No. 12 ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons took home both the team and individual crowns. As a team, Wake Forest finished 18-under par to take home the title. Will Zalatoris held off Virginia's Denny McCarthy for the top individual spot at 10-under par.
Vols will be back in action October 27-28 to compete in the Quail Valley Collegiate in Vero Beach, Fla.
