THE SERIES

The Wildcats now lead the all-time series 150-67. Tennessee's 67 wins are the most of any program against Kentucky in basketball history.

The series between Tennessee and Kentucky is the Vols' oldest and most-played among SEC opponents. The teams first met on Feb. 5, 1910 and clashed for the 217th time on Saturday.

In games played in Lexington, Tennessee is 16-88 all-time and 4-35 in Rupp Arena.

Tennessee's last win at Rupp Arena came on Feb. 7, 2006 as Chris Lofton reeled off 31 points. Tennessee has now lost eight games in a row at Rupp. The Vols have previously beaten Kentucky in Lexington in 1977, 1979, 1999 and that 2006 game.

Since the AP Poll was established, an unranked Tennessee team has beaten a ranked Kentucky team 17 times, the last coming in the last meeting, when UT beat No. 25 Kentucky.

Tennessee posted its largest win over Kentucky in the last meeting between the teams on Feb. 16, 2013 in Knoxville, 88-58.

TOTALLY STOKED

Jarnell Stokes posted his ninth double-double of the season with 20 points and 15 rebounds.

It was Stokes' 27th career double-double to tie Len Kosmalski (27) for eighth in career double-doubles. Next on the list with 29 is Tom Boerwinkle (29).

Stokes also hit the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season and seventh time in his career. His 15 rebounds marked the fifth time in his career and third time this season that he has hit the 15-rebound mark

He had the double-double in the first half along with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

In the first half, Stokes single-handedly out rebounded Kentucky, 11-10, as Tennessee won the battle of the boards 23-10 in the first 20 minutes.

After scoring just eight total points in his first two games (in 39 minutes) at Rupp Arena, Jarnell Stokes reached that total in games first 4:15 on Saturday.

Stokes scored the game's first six points in the first 2:19 of action.

BOARD IT UP

Tennessee outrebounded Kentucky, 39-24 including 23-10 in the first half while Stokes -- by himself -- out rebounded UK, 11-10.

Coming into the game, Kentucky was the top rebounding team in the SEC at 45.0 per game and No. 1 in rebounding margin (+15.7).

The Vols led the league in rebounding defense coming into the game at 27.7.

Kentucky did not have a player with more than two rebounds until Dakari Johnson grabbed his third rebound with 10:40 left in the second half.

D-UP

Tennessee came into the game boasting the best defense in the SEC, allowing just 58.0 points per game. Kentucky, meanwhile owns the best scoring average in the league at 80.3.

The Vols have held 17 of 19 opponents to 70 points or less this season, Kentucky being just the second team to go over the 70 point mark, with only UTEP (78) scoring more. The Vols overall scoring defense coming into the game was 61.3

McRAE CLIMBING SCORING CHART

Jordan McRae scored 17 points and now has 1,141 in his career. He surpassed Fred Jenkins (1,139 in 1984-87) to move to 39th all-time. Next on the list is No. 38 Lang Wiseman (1,156 in 1990-93).

For McRae it was his 15th game this season and 52nd in his career in double-figures.

MAYMON SCORING

Senior Jeronne Maymon scored 12 points, hitting double-digit scoring for his eighth game this season and 34th career

Stokes made his 59th straight start and McRae started his 49th in a row.

This starting lineup moves to 9-5 on the season.

First basket for the Vols came off the finger tips of Jarnell Stokes, 1:29 into the half.

First subs for Tennessee were Rawane Ndiaye and Derek Reese with 4:15 elapsed in the first half.
