Defensive Line (2000-01)
The only Vol All-American and All-SEC selection to have ever worn the number 98, "Big John" earned back-to-back All-American honors his junior and senior season by exploding off the defensive line.
His junior year (2000), the year Tennessee set the school record for fewest rushing yards allowed with 817 - he won the Outland Trophy, was a Bronko Nagurski Award Trophy finalist and was named SEC Defensive Player of the Year. His 12 sacks ranked third on Tennessee's single-season list. He was also an Outland finalist and a Lombardi Award semifinalist in 2001 despite a lingering ankle injury.
Henderson has gone on to play 10 seasons in the NFL with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders after being the Jags' 2002 first-round selection. Henderson was a Pro Bowl selection in 2004 and 2006
