NEW YORK -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released the men's singles and doubles draws for this weekend's USTA/ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships.
Tennessee juniors Mikelis Libietis and Hunter Reese are both in the field playing singles and doubles. They are seeded No. 1 in the doubles draw.
Libietis, the preseason No. 1-ranked player, takes on Baylor's Patrick Pradella, the No. 1 seed in the tournament. Reese takes on Nathan Pasha of Georgia.
In doubles, Libietis and Reese face a team from Virginia Tech.
The Vol duo is coming off a title run at the ITA All-American Championships
For the fourth consecutive year, the event will be held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the site of the U.S. Open.
Tennessee has won three singles and one doubles title in the history of this event, the only collegiate major where UT players have won multiple singles titles. Rhyne Williams most recently won the tournament as a sophomore in 2010, defeating No. 1 seeded Alex Domijian of Virginia in the opening round en route to victory.
Past Vol champions also include Mel Purcell (1980) and Paul Annacone (1984). Chris Mahony and Pablo Montana won the doubles title in 1996.
