GAME PREVIEW: KENTUCKY

Tennessee is seeking its first true road win of the season and also is looking to avoid its first 0-3 start to SEC play since the 1997-98 campaign.
Kentucky is one of only three SEC schools (along with Alabama and Missouri) to lead its all-time series against the Volunteers.
The Kentucky series is UT's oldest and most-played among SEC opponents. The Vols and Wildcats first met on Feb. 5, 1910, and have clashed 214 times over the years.
At least one of these teams has been ranked for each of the last seven meetings in this series.
No program in college basketball has logged more wins over Kentucky than Tennessee (66).
Entering December, Kentucky owned a 55-game home winning streak. But the Cats have lost twice at Rupp Arena this season, falling to Baylor on Dec. 1 and Texas A&M on Saturday.

A Tennessee win on Tuesday would give Kentucky its first two-game home losing streak since March of 2009 (LSU and Georgia).
Underclassmen account for 84.5 percent of Kentucky's scoring. Upperclassmen are responsible for 59.3 percent of UT's points this season.
Tennessee has defeated a John Calipari-coached team five times since he returned to the college game in 2000-01.
UT has held 12 of 14 opponents to fewer than 70 points this season. Kentucky averages 77.4 ppg.
In SEC play, Vols junior Jordan McRae ranks second in the league in scoring (23.5 ppg) and tied for fifth in field-goal percentage (.571).

VOLS SECOND IN SEC WINS SINCE 2005-06

In league play, Tennessee is the SEC's second-winningest program dating to the 2005-06 season.
Tennessee's 75 SEC regular-season wins during that span are second only to Kentucky (79).
Rounding out the top five is Florida (74), Vanderbilt (66) and Mississippi State (62).

FOES FINDING EDGE AT FOUL LINE

Tennessee's two SEC opponents have combined to shoot 86 percent at the free-throw line against the Vols (54-of-63).
Ole Miss went 38-of-44 at the foul line, and Alabama was 16-for-19 at the stripe.
In those two losses, the Vols attempted an average of just 21 free throws per game, making them at a .595 clip (25-of-42).

BIG ORANGE THORN IN CALIPARI'S SIDE

Since UK coach John Calipari returned to the college game in 2000-01, Tennessee has dealt him five losses. Only Louisville has more wins over Calipari-coached teams during that span.
