KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- No. 23 Tennessee and Vanderbilt both scored in the first half, but neither team could put one in the net again in a 1-1 double-overtime tie Sunday at Regal Stadium.

"We had 22 shots miss the frame," Pensky said. "So we've got to get better in and around the goal. We also had 10 corner kicks and we've got to get better on our set piece opportunities."

The match wrapped up a long weekend for Tennessee (6-1-2, 1-0-1 SEC) and Vanderbilt (3-3-3, 0-0-2). The Lady Vols beat Alabama 2-1 in overtime on Friday, while Vanderbilt recorded a tie with Georgia.

Tennessee took an early lead when newcomer Hannah Wilkinson scored from three yards out on a cross from Katie Lenzin the 12th minute. In just four games since joining the Lady Vols, Wilkinson has scored two goals.

Vanderbilt struck back in the 24th minute when Dana Schwartz fired in a goal with an assist by Cheyna Williams.

For the rest of the game, both teams came close to scoring again. Tennessee took 10 corner kicks during the game, including one with less than 10 seconds left in overtime. Amy Harrison took the kick and Lenz took a last-second shot that was saved by Vanderbilt's defense to preserve the tie.

A total of 37 fouls were called in the physical match between the two teams, Vanderbilt with 21 and Tennessee with 16. There were also three yellow cards distributed.

Tennessee hits the road this weekend for a pair of SEC games, playing Florida on Friday at 7 p.m. and Mississippi State on Sunday at 2 p.m.

NOTES: Tennessee out-shot Vanderbilt 27-15, including 14-8 in the first half ... Wilkinson again led the team in shots, taking seven ... CC Cobb was second on the team with four shots ... Cheyna Williams had four shots for Vanderbilt in addition to her assist.

COBB'S TOUGHNESS RESONATES ON FIELD

Junior CC Cobb is starting to look like the bionic woman on the field for Tennessee. Her pregame accessory list is all function and zero fashion. Ankle brace? Check. Elbow brace? Check. Tape on nose? Check. Still, Cobb flies to the ball will the reckless abandon of someone feeling the effects of no injuries at all.

The ankle brace is a long-term precautionary piece. A ball to her nose in summer camp needed surgery and has the hard tape on the nose. Her elbow popped out during UT's game at Cal State Northridge, and needed to be wrapped up so she could continue. The large brace for the elbow is another accessory. But none of those pieces entered her mind in a physical battle with Vanderbilt Sunday afternoon.

"It was extremely physical," Cobb said of the 1-1 draw at Regal Stadium. "Both teams wanted to win and the energy was flowing. But I think we rose to the occasion and matched their intensity."

The injuries may nag Cobb, but the Delray Beach, Fla. Native said they haven't slowed her down.

"They've been tough," she said. "Everyone here has been really supportive of me. They believe in me when I say I'm good to go."

And even though her all-out, physical style of play doesn't lend itself to self-preservation, Cobb isn't concerned about the effects. She just wants one thing: The ball.

"I want to work hard for this team, so I want to put my body on the line," Cobb said to describe her style. "I don't want them to have the ball, so whatever it takes for me to get the ball from them, that's what I'm going to do."
