Tennessee released the 2012-13 season schedule for its combined men's and women's swimming and diving program.
In Matt Kredich's first season as head coach of both teams, Tennessee is set for nine events on campus at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatics Center. The Vols and Lady Vols open the home schedule with the annual Orange and White Intersquad Meet on Oct. 12 at 4 p.m.
Tennessee has seven dual meets on the schedule, including a double dual meet on the road against Kentucky and Indiana to open the regular season Oct. 19 in Lexington, Ky.
The Tennessee Invitational, the traditional end of the fall swimming season for the Vols and Lady Vols, will be hosted Nov. 15-17. Schools competing in the meet include Kentucky, Duke and Richmond.
All the meets on the UT schedule are combined men's and women's competitions except for the NCAA Championships in March and a women's dual meet at home against Vanderbilt on Jan. 30.
In its first year in the Southeastern Conference, Texas A&M will host the SEC Championships from Feb. 19-23 in College Station. Both the men's and women's NCAA Championships will be held in Indianapolis, with the women competing March 21-23 and the men racing a week later, March 28-30.
The Vols and Lady Vols will host a pair of diving meets this year with the Tennessee Diving Invitational from Jan. 4-6 and the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships from March 11-13. The zonal diving meet serves as the qualifying meet for divers to compete at the NCAA Championships.
The Lady Vols are coming off a banner 2011-12 year in which they finished second at the SEC Championships and seventh at the NCAA Championships. The Vols finished fourth at the SECs and 22nd at the NCAAs.
