KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Thompson-Boling Arena and other area gyms are hubs of excitement, energy and education, and there's still time for aspiring young players to get in on the action. Tennessee Head Women's Basketball Coach Holly Warlick said it's not too late to enroll in the last two Pat Head Summitt Lady Vol Basketball Camps this week.
Warlick, who is directing the camps this summer with help from assistants Kyra Elzy, Jolette Law and Dean Lockwood, as well as Summitt when her schedule allows, said UT is still accepting applications for two options. Those interested in attending may go to Tennessee Sports Camps and click on women's basketball.
Each camp has a link that provides general information about that specific camp as well as medical and transportation forms. If the online registration process is closed, those interested may call 865-974-0600 for details on how to register.
Next up on the schedule is the 10th-annual Day Camp, slated for June 13-16. That program is aimed at campers ages 6-12 and features a choice of morning or afternoon sessions. The cost is $175 per camper.
Wrapping up the week of activity is the Next Level Skills Camp, an overnight, on-campus event on June 16-17 for players age 14 to rising senior. This camp is designed for the serious-minded player who aspires to reach their highest potential. Prior camp experience is strongly recommended. Camp fee is $150.
The first event on the schedule was the 36th-annual Overnight Camp, which runs June 10-13 and is geared for those age 10 to rising seniors. The fee is $450 per person, but entry for that camp is closed.
