Tennessee Lady Vol basketball head coach Holly Warlick is in Baton Rouge, La., and along with LSU Tiger head women's basketball coach Nikki Caldwell will embark on another "Cruisin' for a Cause" motorcycle ride to benefit breast cancer research as part of their "Champions for a Cause" foundation.
The long haul motorcycle ride kicks off with a "bike night" at Walk-On's Bistreaux on Burbank Drive in Baton Rouge tonight from 6:30-9:30 p.m. CT.
Fans and motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to attend the bike night at Walk-On's. For a $15 donation, fans will receive some great food while a portion of the proceeds go directly to the "Champions for a Cause" foundation to benefit breast cancer research. Riders are encouraged to bring their motorcycles to the event.
Warlick and Caldwell will be available to sign autographs, take photos and visit with the fans while raising money for their foundation. This marks the sixth year that two have taken part in "Cruisin' for a Cause." Since its inception in 2007, over $250,000 has been raised for the non-profit organization to support the fight against breast cancer.
"I always look forward to the time I get to spend on our Crusin' ride," said Warlick. "Both Nikki and I feel strongly about helping to find a cure and raising awareness for breast cancer. It never ceases to amaze me how many breast cancer survivors attend our events and thank us. It just reinforces why we do this and the importance of reaching out to the community."
The event continues on Saturday at Harley Davidson of Baton Rouge on Siegen Lane. Motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to ride with Warlick and Caldwell from Baton Rouge to New Orleans on Saturday. Riders must make a $25 donation to breast cancer research to ride, which also includes lunch.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. at Harley Davidson of Baton Rouge. There will be a hog meeting followed by a cookout and bike wash. The ride to New Orleans gets underway at 2:30 p.m. and will conclude at New Orleans Children's Hospital.
