PLAYER SPOTLIGHTKEVIN MAYS
Defensive Line (1991-92)
No Vol has ever worn No. 96 during an All-SEC season. A future All-SEC selection as an offensive guard in 1994, Kevin Mays began his career as a defensive tackle and wore No. 96 in the 1991 and 1992 season, Mays made nine tackles on the defensive side of the ball before moving over to the offense and switching to No. 67 in 1993. The Kingston, Tenn., native was also an SEC Academic Honor Roll selection as a senior.
WHY I WORE THE NUMBERChad Cunningham
Punter (2008-10)
"One of the funniest things about wearing 96 and being a punter was being placed between all the defensive linemen in the locker room. But, now 96 is special in different ways to me, it is part of me and being a Tennessee Vol."
