KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee football program will host the 29th annual University of Tennessee Strength Coaches Clinic and Athletes Camp on Friday and Saturday (March 2-3), led by head football strength and conditioning coach Ron McKeefery. The event takes place inside the Neyland-Thompson Center where the Vols practice.
The two-day clinic is designed to provide coaches an opportunity to improve their respective skills and knowledge in order to enhance their chances for success in competition.
Coaches will be instructed on creating an annual strength and conditioning plan on Friday, while gaining a solid foundation in the basic fundamentals of strength training, speed mechanics and agility training on Saturday.
Also on Saturday, the athletes will rotate through 20 teaching and hands-on instructional stations, emphasizing speed technique, quickness, upper and lower body strength and power development.
McKeefery, the 2008 Under Armour Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year, is in his second season at the University of Tennessee.
