Coach's Evaluation:
"Jeronne is the locomotive for what is the Tennessee basketball train. His on-court development and growth were a major part of the progress that our team made last year. He was one of the most productive and consistent players in the SEC a season ago. As a coach, you cannot place value on the luxury of knowing what you'll get from a player every game. He attacks off the dribble, can defend any position on the floor, plays with a relentless mentality on the glass and he's an absolute bull in the paint. He is the definition of versatility."
Echoes of the Past:
Ron Slay (2000-03)
Ron Slay (2000-03)
"Both are simply excellent basketball players. They're all-around players. They both have a nose for the ball and are very aggressive rebounders on both ends of the court. They're consistent scorers, typically in double figures. They both are very good around the basket because they both have great, soft, strong hands. One unique thing about both players is they are great ball handlers for big men. They help bring the ball up the floor against full-court pressure. Both are extremely unselfish and always willing to share the basketball. But probably the No. 1 trait for both these players is that they make their team better when they are on the floor. Maymon should be a first-team All-SEC selection if he has as good of a year as a senior that Slay did his senior year."
