Coach's Evaluation:
"Dwight Miller is one of the more explosive athletes in the SEC. He has done an outstanding job in the weight room, and you can see the results. On the floor, he possesses the versatility that coach Martin covets in recruiting, as he can stretch a defense to the 3-point line. He has a soft touch around the rim, and with lively legs he's very active on the glass."
Echoes of the Past:
Larry Robinson (1972-73)
Larry Robinson (1972-73)
"Larry Robinson was a glue-type player for coach Ray Mears in 1972 and 1973. He wasn't flashy, but he would rebound, set a pick, play defense and score when he had the opportunity. With no 3-point shot back then, Robinson stayed around the basket and was a threat on the offensive glass. While Dwight can and does pop out for a 3-pointer once in a while, his main value is inside getting rebounds and playing tough defense. They didn't call many plays for Robinson on offense, and I am not sure they will for Miller this season, but Dwight can make shots and score when he gets the opportunity, as did Robinson. Neither player is flashy, but both are very workman-like. His teammates respected Larry Robinson so much for his work ethic, he was named captain of the team in 1973. Dwight Miller has many of those same qualities."
