Coach's Evaluation:
"It's extremely hard to sit out your first year of college as a redshirt freshman, but `Q' made the most of his year. Last season, Q concentrated on learning the game at a higher level and brought intensity to practice every day. This year has been no different. He's a physical, undersized post who crashes the glass hard on the offensive end and is a dangerous threat from the outside. Much like D'Montre Edwards, Q will be a weapon for us to create certain matchup problems."
Echoes of the Past:
Terry Crosby (1976-79)
Terry Crosby (1976-79)
"Quinton and Terry Crosby are both terrific athletes who had to wait for their chance to play.Crosby was All-State in two sports out of Toldeo, Ohio. Many thought he would play defensive back for Ohio State or another Big 10 football team. Instead, he chose basketball and came to Tennessee. He played behind Mike Jackson and Ernie Grunfeld on the wing early in his career, but eventually became a standout player, averaging 19 points per game his junior year and 14 his senior season. Quinton, like Terry, was a work in progress when he arrived on campus. Both are 6-5, tough, athletic and can play inside or outside. Terry Crosby worked hard to become a great player at both ends of the floor.Quinton appears to have that same type of basketball drive and desire." .
