Digital Ticketing Debuts Sat. At Neyland
September 01, 2011 | Football
KNOXVILLE - At Saturday's home opener at Neyland Stadium (Sept. 3), the University of Tennessee Athletic Department will introduce a new digital ticketing system that will provide season-ticket holders and fans with greater convenience and security by scanning barcoded tickets at all gates.
This same digital ticketing system was successfully introduced at Thompson-Boling Arena four years ago for all basketball games, concerts and other ticketed events. Fans benefit from heightened protection against counterfeit tickets and can also take advantage of new digital ticketing services, including print-at-home tickets and ticket transfers for season-ticket holders.
As is standard practice at numerous collegiate and professional venues, all tickets will be scanned at the gates of Neyland Stadium using a barcode on the bottom of each ticket to verify admission. Scanning identifies counterfeit and stolen tickets and provides improved security and service.
All fans can now choose to print single-game tickets from an office or home computer on their own printer. Each print-at-home ticket arrives as a separate attachment and should be printed on a separate piece of 8½ x 11-inch white paper using either black or color ink. A print-at-home ticket should be treated just like any other ticket.
Print-at-home tickets are individually barcoded, which will allow one scan per entry. Any attempts to duplicate, alter or sell any copies of the print-at-home ticket may result in admittance being refused to the event.
Ticket transfers allow season-ticket holders who encounter scheduling conflicts to email tickets to another person, who then prints out the tickets on demand. Barcodes are printed on each transferred ticket and scanners are used at each entrance to validate the tickets.
All gates at Neyland Stadium open two (2) hours prior to kickoff, so fans are encouraged to come early, have their tickets scanned and enjoy the game. If you need assistance, Ticket Customer Service can be found at Gates 11, 21, and 23.
