THE OHIO STATE MATCH
- By winning the first outright SEC Championship in program history last week, Tennessee was awarded the No. 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament and the right to host the first and second rounds.
- The Lady Vols earned their fourth national seed in program history, all of which have come with head coach Rob Patrick at the helm.
- Tennessee has now won 13-straight matches, six of which have come on the road. Entering Friday, UT is also perfect 14-0 at home.
- The winner of Friday's match will move on to the NCAA Regional in Gainesville, Fla., Dec. 9-10.
THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
- Tennessee is making its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance, which ties a school record (1981-84), and 13th overall showing in postseason play.
- The Lady Vols will be hosting for the eighth time in school history and for the first time since 2009. UT has an overall NCAA Tournament record of 13-12.
- Earlier this week, sophomore Kelsey Robinson was tabbed SEC Player of the Year, setter Mary Pollmiller earned SEC Freshman of the Year and head coach Rob Patrick was selected as the SEC Coach of the Year.
- The Big Orange holds a 9-2 record in tournament matches played in Knoxville.
