November 09, 2011 | Football
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The 24th annual Orange and Blue Blood Drive--a competition between Tennessee fans and Kentucky fans will be held November 14-18. Medic Regional Blood Center is calling on all students to prove the Volunteer spirit is alive and well by giving blood and helping Tennessee fans beat Kentucky.
Students and faculty will have the opportunity to donate blood throughout the week at different sights on campus including the University Center and several resident halls. Students and faculty who donate will receive a free T-shirt, a free ¼ Thickburger from Hardees and a free cholesterol screening.
"The battle of Tennessee versus Kentucky is not just is not just on the football field," said University of Tennessee Head Football Coach Derek Dooley. "Medic Regional Blood Center's annual Battle of the Orange and Blue blood drive competition is a battle that saves lives. So for you dedicated Vol fans who already bleed orange, do it for a great cause. Donate blood and save a life."
