SEC Tabs Robinson as Offensive Player of the Week

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - For the third straight week, a member of the Tennessee Lady Vol volleyball team has been honored by the Southeastern Conference, as the league announced on Monday that sophomore Kelsey Robinson has been named the conference's Offensive Player of the Week.
Coming off a pair of wins over Alabama and Ole Miss this past weekend, Robinson notched her 11th and conference-leading 12th double-double this season. Robinson has now been tabbed the SEC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season, as she also picked up the accolade on Sept. 8.
Versus the Rebels, Robinson recorded her second 20-20 game of the season, as the Bartlett, Ill., native blasted 20 kills and had 20 digs. In a three-set sweep of Alabama on Friday, she registered 15 kills, 13 digs and three assists.
Overall, she tallied 35 kills, 33 digs, four blocks, three aces and three assists. She also increased her season averages, as she ranks first in the SEC in points per set (5.49), kills per set (4.69) and aces per set (0.48).
The Lady Vols are currently on an 11-match winning streak, which is tied for the second-longest current streak in the nation. As a result, the Big Orange also moved a spot up in the AVCA coaching poll, coming in at No. 18 after receiving 483 points.
Tennessee will return quickly to action this week, as the squad begins the first of four consecutive matches on road in Lexington, Ky., on Wednesday against Kentucky. The match versus UK is slated to begin at 8 p.m. and will be televised nationally by ESPNU.
